As far as the National league is concerned,
oddsmakers are placing the Atlanta Braves' Andrew
Jones at 5-8 followed by the St. Louis Cardinals'
Albert Pujols at 13-10 for the NL MVP title.
Also, the Cardinals have another star in the spot
light, pitcher Chris Carpenter is favored at 5-9 for
the Cy Young award. Also, Dontrelle Willis of the
Marlins is being posted at 7-5 odds of winning the
award.
In the American League, David Ortiz is again in
the running for the AL MVP after losing out last
year to Vladimir Guerrero. Ortiz has 2-1 odds, but
the clear favorite is Yankees Alex Rodriguez (A-Rod)
at 5-13.
In the West AL division, Los Angeles pitcher
Bartolo Colon has odds at 1-2, placing him as the
AL's favorite for the Cy Young award with a league
leading 21 wins. Yankees closer Mariano Rivera is
second at 8-5. Rivera had another strong season with
43 saves.
At the end of the season, many online gambling
players feel that it usually comes down to the Red
Sox and Yankees. We know this because of the out
pouring of wagering on the two teams.
